Ever attend a motivational seminar because the brochure promised to teach you how to find success in life?
Some of those speakers really get you excited don’t they? That, of course, is their job as speaker. To get you all keyed up during the seminar so you’ll run to the back of the room and buy the motivational materials they have on sale back there.
But does the information they give you during their speech actually help you step out onto your road to life’s success? Do the attendees leave the seminar with the knowledge they need to go where they want to go?
I believe it does. At least for some, but not for all of the people who sit through the seminar.
The knowledge is there for you. With that knowledge you’ll own the tools you need to find success. The real question is will you put that knowledge to good use, and make it work in your life?
And your success education doesn’t stop at only one seminar, or after the reading of one book about how to succeed.
The speaker, during his talk, tells you about valuable materials that hold more information you can use to move along that road in front of you.
You’ll hear about books such as:
Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
How To Win Friends And Influence People by Dale Carnegie
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz
The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale
Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini
Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki
See You at the Top by Zig Zigler
The Law of Success by Napoleon Hill
Those are only a few of the publications about successful living. Each one of them holds the power to turn your life into the life you want.
Every time you read one of those books, and this includes repeated readings of the same book, you learn new methods for life improvement and success. Each time you put one of these newly learned techniques to work in your life you increase your chances to reach your goals.
But is the knowledge you get from reading books, and attending seminars, enough to give you your success in life?
No, I don’t think it is.
That knowledge gives you all the tools you’ll require to reach any level in life you want. It’s all there waiting for you to soak it up, put it into action, and live the life you dream about.
But dreams of a successful life aren’t enough to make you take the actions you must take to walk that life’s road you’re dreaming of. Dreaming won’t get you to take your seat in those seminars. Fantasizing won’t move you to pick up that book, and learn what’s inside.
You’ll only do those things your success requires if you truly want to succeed.
Only a burning desire gives you the motivation to walk that road to success in life.
