Can you find success in life without the power of positive thinking?
Maybe, but you’ll find your path much harder to walk. And you create roadblocks in your future when you don’t keep a positive attitude. Thinking positively smoothes your way. It’s an attitude that belongs in every adventure to success.
But a positive attitude won’t make you successful by itself.
I’m sure you’ve heard speakers who say all you need is to think positive thoughts, and you’ll go where you want to go. Maybe you’ve read the book. Or you heard about Earl Nightingale’s secret about what you think most of the time is what you become.
Those claims are true. They just don’t work by themselves. You need a few more weapons in your success achievement arsenal.
Have you tried getting something with nothing more than positive thoughts? Just picked a goal from the mists, and decided to achieve that goal in a particular amount of time?
How’d that work out for you?
If you don’t really want the goal you select, nothing will help you get it.
The power of positive thinking helps you approach problems in life, knowing that you can solve them. Or it gives you the ability to learn how to solve them quickly.
When you face your future with an attitude of negative thinking your mind fills with thoughts about all the things that will stop your success. As you face each pothole along your course you see only the reasons you can’t fill it in. You fail to find the ways to patch your road, and continue your travels.
And when you don’t fix those troubles that come along they grow. Eventually those potholes become gaping canyons that you can’t get across.
Success in life requires a positive view. But make positive thinking your only weapon, and you guarantee you failure – not your success.
You must stock your arsenal with some other tools of combat to complement, and backup, your positivity.
You need a vision. You must see your future as if it already exists. And you must make that vision strong enough that it becomes infectious, and other people catch it too.
You need an attitude of persistence. You must believe so much in your vision that you keep working toward your ultimate goals no matter what else happens in your life to threaten distraction, frustration, or failure for you.
And you must fuel your weapons with a deep burning desire to reach those goals. If you don’t have that burning desire to go where you say you’ll go, your subconscious mind won’t believe you truly want to go there.
And your subconscious must believe you really want the goal you set in order to steer you in the right direction.
Yes, you need positive thoughts. They ease your efforts, and help make the road to your goals a smoother road to travel.
But all the power of positive thinking in the world won’t guarantee that you’ll find success in life.
Not by itself anyway.
