Can You Find Success In Life When You Do Everything By Yourself?

Some people just don’t like living in a crowd. But success in life sometimes requires that you get help from others.

I always had to have a lot of time to myself. I’m a loner in many ways. I like to just sit in the woods or beside a stream and just think. One of my favorite sayings has been that when I’m fishing I don’t like it when a fish bites because it interrupts my thoughts.

Just sitting and thinking, or meditating, is how great new ideas come to us – it’s how we develop our creations.

And it’s a way to tap into a universal intelligence that gives us answers to our problems. Meditation is a way of talking with God, and taking some of the stress away from your life.

Some people need time alone more than others.

But when it comes time to put those ideas and answers into action you can’t always do it by yourself. Many times in life you must have help from friends and fellow workers. You just can’t go it alone all the time. Successes in life just don’t happen that way.

You can’t be a hermit, and reach the stars too.

Each person in a relationship brings a certain value to that relationship. One person has the necessary knowledge. Another person owns the physical skill. Another person supplies the money to fund a project. And still another knows people that can make the project go a little smoother.

It’s why we form teams. One person alone just can’t do some things:

“Together

Everyone

Accomplishes

More”

Or maybe you’ll be the member of a partnership. Still, that’s just another name to give a team isn’t it?

Think about a partnership you’re in right now. Actually you’re a member of more than one team today. I’ll talk about one to give you an example of how you need other people to help you achieve your success in life.

In youth we’re all in a partnership with our parents. Does it seem strange or funny to think of your mom and dad as partners?

They are. And I’ll tell you what that partnership is all about.

Your Mom and Dad are responsible and obligated to you. For instance, when a new person comes into the world that person has no way of knowing how to live, and become an asset to the rest of humanity.

We human beings are different from the rest of the animal world. You see we take 18 or so years to raise our young and teach them how to survive and succeed.

But other animals don’t do that.

Jim Rohn tells this story about the Wildebeest. The baby has less than 10 seconds to get on its feet and start running or it gets eaten. The baby is born and right away the momma starts nudging it with its nose. “Get up, get up. You gotta hurry. Run, run. The lion is coming to eat you.”

No time to learn there. The Wildebeest is either born to run or it lives a very short life.

But you’re lucky. You get to learn from your Mom and Dad for a whole 18 years or more. They’re responsibility in the partnership is to teach you. And you’re supposed to learn what they have to teach. Remember that it’s a partnership. Your obligation to them is to become a valuable member of society.

They have other duties toward you too. They provide your food so you will grow healthy and strong. And they give you clothes to wear and a home to live in. What other things can you think of that they do to help you become an intelligent person who is important to others?

Learning from your parents is not your only responsibility either. Why you put that knowledge to good use or you waste their efforts.

When you get new information give it to your mind, and make it belong to you so it’s always a part of you.

And another duty you have is to give joy to your parents. Let them know you appreciate their teaching, use what you learn, and make them proud of you. Do something today to help make their job easier. Why should they do all the work?

Form your partnerships; accept the teachings of your mentors. Just make sure that the partners you commit to provide positive benefit to both sides. Make your relationships win-win for everybody involved.

And you’ll find your success in life.
